How backlink orders work
A backlink order is different from a guest post order. The buyer provides the target URL and anchor text, then chooses the website where the backlink should appear. WPLinker creates the order and sends the approved backlink to the connected WordPress site.
Backlinks are delivered into backlink groups managed by the WPLinker Connector plugin. You place those groups in your theme, sidebar, footer, Elementor layout, Gutenberg block, or template using shortcodes.
Validity period and permanent links
Backlink services can be sold for a fixed period or as permanent placements. Fixed-period backlinks are useful for yearly pricing. Permanent backlinks are useful when you sell a one-time placement that should remain active unless manually removed.
If a backlink has an expiry date, the WordPress plugin can show the current backlinks with date added and expiry date so sellers understand what is active on the website.
Backlink groups
A backlink group is a named collection of purchased links. Instead of editing theme files every time you sell a backlink, you place one shortcode where links should appear. WPLinker then keeps the group updated automatically.
Keep group names simple and business-friendly. For example, use footer-partners for footer links or sidebar-resources for sidebar placements.
Choosing horizontal or vertical display
Horizontal layouts work well in footers, partner rows, and resource strips. Vertical layouts work better in sidebars or narrow content blocks.
The shortcode builder inside the WordPress plugin lets you choose the group and layout, then copy the generated shortcode. This avoids confusing sellers with too many technical shortcode variations.
Recommended seller workflow
Create backlink services in WPLinker, choose whether the service is yearly or permanent, connect the relevant WordPress website, then place the backlink group shortcode in WordPress before accepting public orders.

- Create a small test backlink order.
- Confirm that the link appears in the correct layout.
